The Story

Grade A - Official Cadet MOD Pack MK2 – 50 Litre BTP (British Terrain Pattern)

The Official Cadet MOD Pack MK2 is the gold-standard load-carrying solution designed specifically for the UK’s Cadet Forces (ACF/CCF). With a total capacity of 50 Litres, this rucksack bridges the gap between a day pack and a full-scale bergen, providing ample space for weekend exercises, fieldcraft, and annual camps. Finished in BTP (British Terrain Pattern), it is designed to integrate seamlessly with current Multi-Terrain Pattern (MTP) uniforms. Constructed from rugged 600D Tac-Poly, this MK2 version features a modernized airflow back system to ensure comfort during long-distance "tabs" and weighted marches.

Technical Details & Features

  • 50 Litre Total Capacity: Optimized for a balanced load-out:

    • 30 Litre Main Compartment: Featuring a protective storm flap to keep moisture away from internal kit.

    • 2 x 10 Litre Side Pockets: Large, fixed pockets for rapid access to water, rations, or waterproofs.

  • Modern Load Management:

    • Airflow Padded Back System: Designed to create a ventilation gap between the pack and the wearer's back.

    • Padded Air Mesh Straps: Contoured shoulder straps and a padded waist strap to distribute weight to the hips.

  • Tactical Versatility:

    • Front MOLLE Platform: Allows for the attachment of additional pouches or specialist equipment.

    • Elasticated Hood: Features two integrated zipped pockets for smaller items like maps, compasses, or torches.

  • ID & Personalisation: Includes a front Velcro panel for ID/Morale patches and a dedicated rear ID patch window.

  • Durable Construction: Built from 600D Tac-Poly, offering a high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent abrasion resistance.

  • Dimensions: Approx. 67 x 53 x 23cm.

Realistic Use Cases

  • Cadet Field Exercises: The mandatory choice for cadets requiring a reliable, uniform-compliant pack for overnight fieldcraft.

  • Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze/Silver: A cost-effective, durable alternative to civilian hiking packs for 1-2 night expeditions.

  • Bushcraft & Scouting: The rugged BTP camo and MOLLE compatibility make it a favorite for woodsmanship and outdoor skills.

  • Airsoft & Milsim: A "bombproof" mid-sized pack for players who need to carry extra BBs, gas, and hydration for full-day operations.

Condition & Authenticity

This is Grade A Used surplus.

  • Grade A: These packs have been previously issued to cadets but remain in excellent, fully functional condition. Expect minor "service character," such as a previous owner's name written on the internal label or slight fading.

  • Inspection: All buckles, zippers, and drawcords are checked to ensure they are present and operational. The fabric is free from significant holes, and the straps are structurally perfect.
